Experian case study

Client:
Great Universal Stores' (GUS plc) demerger allowed the organisations within the group to stand alone, Home Retail Group (HRG - Argos & Homebase) and Experian. HRG is the UK’s leading home and general merchandise retailer. Experian is a global company which provides information to help organisations and consumers make commercial and financial decisions. Both of these organisations have challenging R&A requirements in terms of project complexity, brand identity, design, message, print, time / budget and web requirements.
Corporate Reporting solution:
In partnership with our design agency Accrue, the initial brief was to reduce costs on the 6 month GUS plc R&A project with a print run of 70,000 without sacrificing quality or functionality. An underlying requirement was to create a stronger presence for Argos, Homebase and Experian in preparation for the GUS plc (Great Universal Stores) demerger.
The Experian brief was to produce a printed report and on-line HTML version within strict budgetary and time requirements. It was important to highlight the ‘figuring it out’ theme directly after the demerger and ensure the reports had eye catching design, highlighting the company’s new status.
The Home Retail Group brief the following year focused on a creative approach where home based imagery was linked in with their KPI’s. They required an Investor Relations website that included two Corporate Social Responsibility micro-sites. The printed and online versions needed to be closely linked, comply with best practice navigation and had a very tight 2 week time-scale in which to complete.
Due to the complexity and extremely demanding design and on-line requirements for these projects, Imprima and design partner Accrue combined forces to deliver a bespoke solution for these diverse organisations and have continued this effective working partnership.
Client Benefits:
- GUS plc - the entire printed and on-line report cycle was delivered for an agreed fixed price that included all amendments and made a 30% saving on their previous budget.
- HRG - successful delivery of their first R&A to budget and on time with two interlinked microsites which took 2 weeks to design, build, test and a go live.
- Experian - production of printed and on-line versions in parallel and despite extensive changes after proof, the report was turned around in 10 days.
